There are few additions to the landscape that provide as nice of a look as some nice colorful plants located behind a nice lush green yard. In Arizona the most common varieties of grass are:

Midiron: This is a very nice Hybrid Bermuda variety of grass that is a widely used popular grass for Arizona and other climates. Midiron grass is excellent for dogs and children since it repairs quickly and very durable and considered a low maintenance grass due to its water requirements and mowing requirements. Blue green in color it is a great choice.

Tifgreen: A very nice variety of grass that is used often on golf courses as well as homes that want the putting green type look for their lawn. It has a Kelly green type of look to it. It needs a specialty mower or very sharp blades to cut since its blades are very fine.

Tifway: Well suitable for residential use and it has a very nice dark green color. Thicker and darker green than Tifgreen it is a durable turf for the family. Used in athletic fields and golf fairways.

Santa Ana: Similar to Tifway but it has a finer blade texture which makes it very soft to walk on. It needs lots of water in the summer and it repairs quickly and is durable. Santa Ana is a very nice healthy green color.

St. Augustine: A very nice grass for troublesome areas since it does well in both sunny and shady areas although a decent amount of sunlight will make it grow best. A thick blade texture but soft to the touch with a lighter green color.

Celebration: A low maintenance variety of grass that is drought tolerant with a very nice blue green color. Considered to be lower maintenance with a fine to medium texture.
