Midiron: Midiron is probably the most popular grass in Arizona. This is because it is drought tolerant and its resilient. It can handle foot traffic and pet activity. This type of grass requires little maintenance. It is a very good Hybrid Bermuda variety that is excellent for dogs and children since it repairs quickly because of its durability. Midiron is blue-green in color and is a great choice for your yard.
Tifgreen: A very dense variety of grass that is used often on golf courses. It is also used at homes that want the putting green type look for their lawn. This grass has a Kelly green type of look to it and is fine-textured and low-growing. Requires a specialty mower or very sharp blades to cut since its blades are very fine. We also recommend a border containment because it produces lateral runners.
Tifway: Well suited for residential use, and it has a very nice dark green color. Thicker and darker green than Tifgreen, it is a durable turf for the family. It is often used in athletic fields and golf fairways. Tifway is heat tolerant and can handle up to 110 degrees and needs full sun to maintain turf-type quality. It is important to note that it is dormant in the winter season.

Santa Ana: Similar to Tifway, Santa Ana has a finer blade texture which makes it very soft to walk on. It needs a lot of water in the Summer and it repairs quickly because of its durability. This grass also has good fall color retention and grows well in all types of soils. It can grow well in heavy clay tor sandy types of soils. Santa Ana has an above average adaptability to acidic, alkaline, saline and poorly drained soils.
St. Augustine: A very nice grass for troublesome areas since it does well in both sunny and shady areas. For best growth it requires a decent amount of sunlight. It has a thick blade texture but is soft to the touch with a lighter green color.
Celebration: A low maintenance variety of grass that is drought tolerant with a deep blue-green color. It is considered to be low maintenance. Comes with a fine to medium texture and it performs well across a variety of applications. It even finished best in several university research studies for a wide variety of factors. Some factors included wear and tear tolerance and recovery, drought resistance and shade tolerance!
