The Toothpick Cactus, as its name suggest, has spines which resemble toothpicks. It is a medium growing succulent with branches growing up to 30 feet in height. It produces beautiful white flowers and edible fruit in late winter. The fruit, produced in late winter, has a tangy, lemony rind and is edible raw. The seed mass and white pulp are usually not eaten. However, the entire fruit can also be eaten cooked.
